'Aashiqui 2' is a sequel to superhit Aashiqui released in year 1990. Vishesh films organised auditions and a contest on youtube to select star cast for Aashiqui's new franchise. Producers and Director of Aashiqui 2 have decided to cast fresh faces in the film, but Director Mohit Suri get so much impressed with Aditya Roy Kapur's audition that Aditya got the role of male lead character in the film. The actress opposite him needs to be finalised yet.
According to sources, there will be two lead couples in the film, one will be young and the other will be older. But nothing has been spoken about for now.
This film will be Aditya's first full fledge film as a lead actor. Earlier he was seen in Hrithik - Aishwarya starrer 'Guzarish' and Akshay - Aishwarya starrer 'Action Replay' in supporting roles.
